You may have heard by now that the Hard Rock Hotel in Daytona Beach is open. Located just north of the Seabreeze Bridge, this hotel is hip, swanky, and features a restaurant called Sessions, which is not your typical hotel restaurant. Last Friday evening, I joined a few of my work colleagues to try out Sessions at the Hard Rock Hotel.
One might assume that Sessions may be similar to the Hard Rock Cafe. However, this place had its own unique, edgy vibe. The restaurant offers indoor and outdoor seating, however, If you go, I highly recommend sitting outside, because the view is amazing.
We arrived in time to enjoy the Happy Hour specials. During our visit, Happy Hour started at 4pm and lasted until 6:30pm. There are several appetizer options that you can enjoy at half the price, and most appetizers are plentiful enough to be a full meal. They had several drink specials to enjoy during Happy Hour as well. I’m giving Sessions 3 dollar ($$$) signs because their dinner entree prices climb into the $30 price range. If that’s out of your comfort zone, they do have sandwiches and salads starting around $12 per meal.
The moment I sat down, I knew I was ordering the Bleu Cheese Glazed Tater Tots. These tots were bursting with flavor. The tangy bleu cheese and balsamic drizzle paired well with each other. This appetizer did not last long at our table. The rest of our crew enjoyed a variety of other tasty bites: Korean Wings, Tuna Tartare, Mussels in Pernod cream sauce, and another gem on the Happy Hour menu, Caprese Prosciutto Flat Bread.
The Sessions Menu indicates that there are gluten free, dairy free, and vegetarian options. I ordered the Vegetarian Linguini Pasta which was the perfect dish for a warm September evening. It included crisp asparagus, warm grape tomatoes, and a huge portobello mushroom capped off the top of the dish.
The service at Sessions was incredible. Our waitress was friendly and did a wonderful job handling all our requests every time she returned to our table. One of the managers, Jose, greeted us all as if we were all life-long friends. I wasn’t sure what to expect of the Hard Rock Hotel restaurant, but I was pleasantly surprised with everything. This is the perfect place for an after-work gathering or a Girl’s Night Out. And if you are concerned with parking, you don’t have to be. Valet parking is free once you get your ticket validated at the Sessions’ hostess stand.
